The Martinique has moved, it moves again and there is little chance it stops under the shock wave coming from the cross. The first explosion was an explosion of love. The second explosion was that of conscience. Conscience to fight for a common goal. Awareness of being united behind a group of representatives, because despite the misleading figures given by the media or the police (both seem to have worked for the same employer during the strike!) Although there were 50,000 people in Fort de France ( 1/8th of the population of the island) the last day of the event organized by the group's February 5, 2009! Consciousness also exist and belong to a society defined by a distinct history, culture, language and geographical boundaries of course. We who in the past we accuse ourselves of recklessness and individualism can not even count the number of citizens groups have emerged in our country following the strike. The people of Martinique will no longer have the illusion that either!
Finally, the illusions about the existence of a political non Martinique versatile and united behind the people it is supposed to represent were also damaged. Policies were mild or absent (Association of Mayors), changing and / or temperamental (Letchimy and Marie Jeanne), or timid and fearful (Lise). Note that even if some exceptions: thank you to Claude Cayol or even Francis Carole for being with the people in difficult times. Now the question is whether the ideological inconsistencies of political parties of the island, the strike has allowed a glimpse, especially in the MIM, which has not supported the popular movement, distinguished themselves again when the issue of our status will clearly arise. Let us therefore recognize that we still live again in our short history, an important period in which all the forces, energies, skills, and proposals will be required for the movement is moving according to what we want Martinique. Do not let those gift interests diverge from ours decide for us and lead us like donkeys by the end of the carrot. Let us not forget that the struggle and the work continues.
